Hello, friends, I’m Niharika , and today we are gonna talk about one of our favourite subjects, that is being funny. Now we all love cracking jokes. We all love to be around funny people. But how do we describe such funny people? Now, of course, we have comedians, and we have clowns who make us laugh. But we also have so many friends who are like extremely funny.

We can always keep it simple. We can say that “Oh, he is so hilarious”, or you can say “he is too funny”, But we also have a certain kind of humor or certain people who cracks specific jokes. OK, so that’s all we are gonna learn.

The first one that we have for here is a “Goofy person”. Now what’s a goofy person? A goofy person is someone who dresses up in these ridiculous costumes. They crack funny jokes, and they made those real funny impressions. OK, like the famous Hollywood actor Jim Carrey. OK, if you see his movies, if you have been following his movies, you would see he always acts with funny faces and always dressed up in real funny costumes.

OK, so that’s how a goofy person cracks jokes. OK, now we can also call them that, we can give them a name as a goofy ball, “oh, you are such a goofy ball”. OK, so if you have a friend who acts in this manner,OK, who cracks you up in this way,you can always call him a goofy ball. Alright, we have another one here.that’s a “witty person” or “witty people”. Witty people are really smart and they crack these clever jokes. OK, and they are really quick about it.

They always crack clever jokes, and they are always quick. Like the other day, my niece was there and I asked her to draw a train and rail we track ,ok, on a drying sheet. And of course, I got her a little busy and even she started to plain. And when I went back to her, and I said, “ Hey, show me a train you sheet” and when she showed it to me, it was just the rail we tracks.

And I said, “Hi, where is the train? This is just the rail we track” . She said, “ well, you came too late, the train has already gone”. It was like, oh my god, like this little girl is so witty. OK, so that’s how witty jokes are.

Alright, en, another one that we have here is a “Prankster”. Now we all have been these little monsters. We are really mischievous, and you have definitely played pranks on your friends or on your family members.

At least, I have, ok, I have been a really monster mischievous person. Now, who is a “Prankster” ? Prankster is someone who plays practical jokes.OK, alright, prankster is someone who plays practical jokes to scare someone or just to have fun. Like, for example, you know there are friends , and you are having a nice day with your friends. And one of your friends was sleeping, and you put these shaving foam all over his face. OK, so next morning, he wakes up, he has got the shaving foam all over his face, that’s a prank that you played on your friend.

Or a way simple one, I’m sure you all have done this. Someone is trying to sit, and you put back the chair, and “ bang”,the person falls down, and you guys are having a big laughter at this. So, that’s basically being a “prankster”, and now the one that we have here is “self deprecating” joke. The joke , self deprecating jokes are, is a person who would joke on his or her flaws,OK, on their own flaws. For example, I have this a little hefty friends.

OK, who’s a little obits ,OK, I hope she is not watching this video. Well, so, she is a little obits and I usually tell her, “Hey, girl, you need to lose weight, you know, why don’t you start walking”? And you know what she return? She will tell me, she says, “well, I do walk, I do walk two miles, one to the donuts shop and the other mile back home”.

And I am like, oh my god, you know, so, she is basically making fun of being a little obits . OK, so, that’s what self deprecating humor is. OK, someone who makes fun of themselves, making fun on your own flaws”. Alright, so this is how you would describe your friends if they are goofy or if they crack witty jokes, or they are pranksters or they crack self deprecating jokes.

OK, now we have different kind of humor also. Dry sense of humor. Dry sense of humor is just what being called as be witty,OK, especially comedians you know. As people who do stand comedy, they do crack funny jokes but such a straight face like “damn, I’m making any funny faces, with such a straight face crack jokes, that kind of humor we call it as dry sense of humor.

OK, it’s again, clever fun, OK, and it’s pretty quick. And now the one is “quirky sense of humor”, oh, I missed out an “e” here. OK, quirky sense of humor is something which is unpredictable. You know unpredictable jokes, it is just off the beat, “off beat jokes”, like something that you never heard about. I have many friends who do crack jokes you know I never heard about or you know they just come out with something which is off beat. So that’s what we call as quirky sense of humor.

Alright, so this is, these are the phrases that you can use for the fun that you really enjoy. OK, it’s a positive humor. But we also have some jokes that are not quite good.

OK, they are not nice, it is not funny. So we’ll look at those phrases also. Now sometimes, humor can really go wrong. And I’m sure we all have friends or some family members who crack these silly down jokes. So what we call such people? We can look at that. OK, so we are gonna talk about negative humor. The first one we have here is “warped sense of humor”. Now what’s warped sense of humor? It’s basically people who talk about disabilities, OK, or about dead, or about some tragedy.

OK, now people who really make fun of such situations. I have a friend of mine, in fact we lost common friend in a car accident. And this friend of mine just made fun of it, you know, be trying to give a funny angle, but it wasn’t funny at all, like we didn’t laugh at it. He said that “Oh, he died of this car accident, it had to happen because he is always trying to impress women,。

OK, he always race and you know trying to impress the women in the town. So, that’s not funny, isn’t it ? So that’s when we call people with “warped sense of humor”, OK, which is really not funny. The other one that we have here is “Toilet humor”. Now toilet humor is, this of course, is pretty offensive, because they are people who write these one liners or the words of the public toilets, or even in the toilets. OK, the moment you go, you see something really like these one liners, it’s not funny.

OK, you basically dirty public property, but that’s what toilet humor is.When we talk about or we make fun of people that do something in the toilet, OK, something toilet related.OK, so it’s not funny at all. So, the other one that we have are “Corny jokes or Lame jokes”. Now, corny jokes and lame jokes are the people who crack really silly down jokes, and they are so predictable that you kind of even laugh at it.

OK, it’s not funny, like, you may have heard about these “Knock knock” jokes, like “Knock knock”, and who’s this and then the person says “Bu bu”, and you like “bu bu who”. And the person say stop crying, girl, it’s just a joke, not like, OK, it’s really silly. OK, what next, OK, so that’s what corny people are or corny jokes are. Like, if you have a friend who cracks this kind of jokes, you can call him as a “cornball”,

OK, you can call him “oh, you are such a cornball”. OK, so you can add this word to your vocabulary. So another one that we have here is “Frat boy humor". Now, “Frat boy humor”is when man, especially when they go out a party, like boy’s night out, and they drink too much. They have a tendency to laugh about disable people, or makes sexual or races to commons. OK, so that’s what we call as “frat boy humor”.

OK, when they make some sexual remarks. OK, so they are kind of having fun, but this kind of humor is very offensive, right, so, we look at negative humor and we also look at that positive humor.

So I hope that this lesson helps you with phrases to describe a funny person, right, enjoy good humor and I’ll see you in your next lesson. You take care and have a great day!
